There is a lot of confusion today about the pelvic floor as it relates to Pilates. Does Pi-lates use it? Tighten it? Over work it? How does one strengthen it? Release it. Help or harm it?
In this workshop we will discuss all these questions and concerns, and discover how Pilates can play a valuable role in the health of the pelvic floor. Using the concept of tensegrity, we will learn to see how Pilates exercises can balance the strength and flex-ibility of this complicated set of muscles. Through the deep breath work and the whole body movements of Pilates which are solely designed to uniformly develop the body, Pilates works its magic from the deepest core layers out.
