Trainee Immersion which includes classes and Teaching Clinics. The Trainee Immersion allows for trainees to immerse themselves in their Pilates education (July 25 - 29, 2022). 18 hours.
Pilates should feel like a deep and powerful massage for all of your body’s tissues and systems. It should heat up and ultimately change the texture of all of you so you become softer, warmer, more flexible, and especially, robustly absorbent.
In this workshop, we will explore structural and muscular imbalances and how these affect twisting.
When paying attention to how we twist, it can create better abdominal and spinal support to avoid injuries in the knees, spine, etc. We will look at different exercises on all apparatus to explore these imbalances.
In this workshop we will look at a body doing challenging Mat and Reformer exercises to discover the client's movement strengths and deficits. These deficits often lead to a lack of movement or over stabilizing in the body.
As Pilates teachers we spend a lot of time assessing both posture and functional movement in the human body. We typically focus on cueing and correcting the form of the Pilates choreography versus the client’s movement imbalances.
What do you think Joseph Pilates himself, meant by it? He literally told us that it was the actual definition of physical fitness! How is that possible? How does it lead to fitness? How many ways can you define it? How do we teach Pilates accordingly?
