In this workshop, Kelli B Hutchins will take a look at two unique clients, each of whom struggles with standard issues that occur as we age. One, who is 75, has had double knee replacement and has also discovered, later in her life, that she has scoliosis. Using pads and other props, we will strengthen the weak and tight areas caused from having knee replacements and scoliosis. The other client, 80 had polio as a child and lost the use of one of her arms. We will explore how one can still teach them Pilates from a full body perspective using props and pads to work to get the most out of their movement in a lesson. These “case studies” will show how a mature client can negotiate the changes in his/her body while increasing strength and flexibility.
